He is currently Director of Research and Innovation at the University of Fortaleza, where he has taught for over 30 years. He did his PhD (1997) at the University of Aix-Marseille III, France and postdoctoral (2007) at the Laboratory of Knowledge Systems in Stanford, California, USA. Furtado has written more than 150 scientific articles on computing with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, working mainly on the following topics: multi-agent simulation, semantic web, machine learning and data mining. He has applied his research in the area of Public Security and Smart Cities. In addition to his academic experience, he has extensive experience in the public sector, where he served as Technology Director of the Public Security Secretariat of the State of Ceará (1997-2004) and, more recently (2013-2016), as vice president and then president of Fundação de Science, Technology and Innovation of Fortaleza (CITINOVA). He is a member of the Brazilian Public Security Forum.

He is currently a professor at the Center for Technological Sciences at the University of Fortaleza and coordinator of the Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Cities (Lapin/UF).

Professor of the Mechanical Engineering course and of the Master’s and Doctoral Program in Applied Informatics at Unifor – Graduated in Physics from the Federal University of Santa Maria-RS (1993), Master’s in Physics from the Federal University of Ceará (1995) and PhD in Physics from the Federal University of Ceará (1998). He is currently a professor of the Mechanical Engineering course at the University of Fortaleza. He has experience in Physics, with emphasis on heat transfer, thermal and thermodynamic processes, working mainly on the following topics: computer systems with emphasis on applied computing, combustion in porous media and computational mechanics. Leader of the research group on Combustion Technology and Leader of the research group on Oil and Gas and Energy Systems, he was project coordinator at RECOGAS/PETROBRAS, he was a representative of the National Combustion Network – Northeast, he was a productivity scholarship in technology innovation by CNPq (National Research Council) and works on projects to improve energy efficiency in medium and large industries. He is a professor at the Graduate Program in Applied Informatics. He has one patent granted and another under analysis in the area of combustion processes.
Marcelo Alcantara Holanda

Creator of Elmo and Superintendent of the School of Public Health. He holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará – FUC (1991), with medical residency (1995) and a PhD in Medicine (Pneumology) from the Federal University of São Paulo – Paulista School of Medicine (1998). He is an associate professor of Intensive Care and Pulmonology at the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Federal University of Ceará. He coordinates the Breathing Laboratory (RespLab) at the UFC Biomedicine Center, where he develops research in the areas of mechanical ventilation and chest image analysis in partnership with the FUC’s Department of Teleinformatics Engineering. He coordinated the Intensive Care Center at Monte Klinikum Hospital from 2014 to 2017. He has extensive experience in teaching and training in mechanical ventilatory support in regional, national and international courses in this area. He is the creator and developer of the virtual mechanical ventilation simulator, the xlung program, specifically aimed at teaching the subject to students and healthcare professionals. Founder and owner partner of the company XLUNG for the development of software in the area of health education and the development of applications for smartphones in the area of mechanical ventilation in adults and pediatrics. The Doctor. Marcelo Alcantara is also advisor of the Professional Master’s Degree in Minimally Invasive Technology and Simulation in the Health Area of Centro Universitário Unichristus since 2015. He was president of the Ceará Intensive Care Society (SOCETI) in the 2016-2017 biennium.

He is a Full Professor at UFC, Researcher 1B at CNPq and currently a member of its Advisory Committee for Civil Engineering (CA-EC). Director of Innovation at CFSSTD since 2015, he has been Graduate Coordinator and Head of the Transport Engineering Department, and also Research Director of the UFC Technology Center. He coordinates the Pavement Mechanics Laboratory and the National Institute of Science and Technology in Infrastructure Materials Characterization (INCT-Infra). He was Director of the International Society for Asphalt Pavements, has been a member of the IBP/ABNT Asphalt Commission since 2003, is Associate Editor of Revista Transportes da ANPET, member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Road Materials and Pavement Design, and reviewer of the main international magazines. of the paving area.
